re: Make Me a Million (Tusdays 9pm)
Did you see it this week.
If not, there was two friends who had the idea for selling children's shampoo.
One was Irish and had a kid. Also lived in Ireland.
Anyway, the Irish girl had lots of child care problems. But she did do a lot of work on the site, but was not 100% organised.
Anyway, her mate and the mentor got fed up with her.
So the mentor told her to move to London. So she got a loan. She paid for a flat and child care.
About a day later after moving to London, they turn to her and say sod off.
They give her the 15k back she invested.
That week they get Tesco to take on the shampoo (so clearly they must have made a few quid).
I felt so sorry for her. Talk about being shit on.
If I was her I would be contacting the IRA when she got back to Ireland to arrange an accident.

I have gone off the gay couples idea of the diet website.
They seem to have put thousands into the site.
But cannot see many people wanting to pay £10 a month, to join.
Most of the info I bet is free on the net, or you could buy a diet book for less.
To be honest as they talk about the idea, it almost sounds like they are making it up as they go along.

The bed idea seems to be working.
But if it was me I would simply sell the idea to a firm, (plus a percentage of sales) as I bet they would get more money and less hassle.
I just think they are too small and do not have the experience to sell and make the bed.

I think the girl with the shampoo has the best chance of winning. Must admit I felt sorry for the Irish girl but she was too full of excuses nothing was ever her fault.

Everyone who has ever run a business for any length of time has had their own version of the Irish girl from the shampoo team and in every case they are sacked long before they get as far as that girl did. She had nothing to bring to the team except a load of personal issues that no one cared about and I was surprised that she lasted as long as she did.

I had one who was very similar even used to bring his daughter to work who used to be about 3 at the time. I had to finish him and he happened to be my brother who has never spoken to me since 8 years ago now.
My rule of thumb now never go into business with family or friends thats why they are having problems on the make a million program.

At a place where you are taken on face value and generally accepted as one of the “regulars” I am surprised that you are killing threads with spam for what are really very bad free toplist sites. I think that you have a lot to offer and I enjoy reading your usually very well thought out posts but killing threads with *really* badly posted spam is daft.
Business is about working together and building mutually beneficial relationships so that everyone concerned gets the opportunity to prosper and grow their business. You have started a very interesting business related thread here so don’t kill it with piss taking posts for the sort of sites that most of us walked away from five years ago. You obviously put a lot of time and work into producing some of your sites and you shoot your own content as well so why not find ways to work together and prosper?
I enjoy your posts and I also think that you have a great sense of humour too. I had the impression that you enjoyed posting here?

I think that the mentor was in a difficult position and he would have put a rocket under her about half way through the first program given the chance.

I agree, also when you started posting here, I made you a promise, that I would never let people attack you in the way they did on another forum, which at the time I thought was pretty much a discrase. In return I did mention not blatently spamming the forum.
I also like your posts and am glad you post here, but just throwing in random spam just makes you look like you unprofesional in my opinion. I wont edit your posts, I'll leave it up to you, but you are not doing yourself any favours.

I did post in the wrong place, and emailed the moderator.
It was meant to be posted under a different thread to wind up a certain person who thinks he is god.

For me they should have given her at least 10% or more, simply as she was still putting some effort in and it was partly her idea.
I thought completely cutting her out was a disgrace.
I wonder if legally there was anything she could have done.
I would have refused the money back.
I still wonder if she has a claim on the product.
