What d'ya think?

Depend on the URL?
Always bad?
Work with long URLSs?

I personally like them, but I wonder if it affects returning visitors who have lost their bookmarks. Yeah I know they can use Google if they remember the name, but that can be hit & miss, and many surfers lack common sense.

I hate them. I would prefer an easy to remember phrase so rather than

www.playboy-cybergirls.co.uk

I would have

www.iwanttoseebunnygirls.com

or something

I'm not sure there is much science to this, it's just a personal preference.

well I just bought this site http://www.british-chubby.com and I thought had see if there was a none hyphen version available. I was supprised to find that britishchubby.com and britishchubby.co.uk were still free. For me they would have been my first choice before the hyphen

If they were not available, I would prefer an alternative like

www.ilikechubbys.com

or

www.chubbysgivemeachubby.com

etc

I have a few with hyphens and I believe the search engines ignore the hyphen anyway

I use a mixture. I like using hypens for my blog permalinks post titles, and this seems to get more SE results than non hyphenated titles (and of course more than blogs that don't turn on pretty permalinks and have the posts referred to by meaningless numbers...)

We have made a bob or two with ours and we only have hyphonated domains.

I got my first hyphenated one the other day. Plus another site with similar content and set up. I am not sure whether I'll notice much difference though.

Well opinion is certainly divided, but on the whole it's looking like it's more a question of personal preference.

I'll try and keep things short and catchy, but sometimes that ain't easy.

Thanks for your input.
