Looks like Blu-ray (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7252506.stm) is the winner now.
I thought this had been established a week or so ago?
Yes it had. The last 7 days has been like dominos. Walmart dropped it. Netflix dropped it. Bestbuy dropped it. Then today Toshiba said it was stopping everything to do with it.
Guess what... Looks like Blu-Ray is the winner?

I wonder how long it will be, before we see blu-ray as a standered pc drive, or will dvd stay standered for a while as the discs are still cheap and so or the drives, and unless you edit films or do backups (as in a business) dvd may be more than enough for most users.

A month or two then everybody, by law, will have to take out their
old PC DVD drives and put in Blu-ray drives/recorders.
