If you run an affiliate program what proportion of sales are made by affiliates?

Over the last 3 months Ive noticed that way more than 1/2 of all my sales are made by affiliates now

We have several thousand affiliates but we like most programs we generate a lot of traffic in house now. I would say that we generate about 50% of our sales give or take.

When we were with CCBill we used to make about 80% of our own sales, but that's changed to around 50-60% now we have NATS and a lot more affiliates. Obviously we're now making more sales overall which makes up for the higher revshare payouts.

Used to be around 70% our own sales this time last year but now affiliates account for about 60% of sales.

I'm on 50-60% affiliate sales. It varies week to week. This week was almost 70% affiliates so it's hard to gauge what happens

I'd say at PornStarBucks it's between 80% and 100% depending on which site was are talking about, ClubJenna for instance is different than ClubTera....but overall the majority comes from Affiliates.

Our affiliate "program" is strictly by invite only, so they don't make a massive impact on our sales as we don't have a lot of affiliates... however affiliate sales have been the best week ever in this week just ended.

Why have an invitation only affiliate programme ? That doesn't make sense unless you are clever enough to know everyone in your niche, so you know who is a time waster and who will make you money. I've found a few of those I thought would be time wasters have turned out to be the best, and those I expected a lot from to be a waste of time.

If they cost you more than you make, you are doing it wrong. :)

If you give your affiliates the tools they need to do the job then life is easier and we also have an EXCELLENT affiliate manager who has been with us for years and knows our business inside out.

When we changed our affiliate side from being invite only to a fairly open program back in about 1990 that was the best thing we ever did. Some of the guys that signed up with us would never have got invited back in the beginning yet a quite a few of them have been making double figure sales every day with us for years now.

Its very easy to get side-tracked when you run a site now and you can get tied up with stuff that you should leave alone so that you can concentrate on shooting content and keeping your subscribers happy.

Just to bump it up again... 55% of my CCBill sales are through affiliates so far this year..
