So my very Talented Husband will be opening up for The English Beat on Oct 20, 2005, so if your in the Toronto Area and want to drop by they will be playing @ The Horseshoe Tavern, Queen Street West, Toronto.

LOL, so Donn called me before he played and said he hung out with David Wakling and said he was pretty cool....As for Ranking Roger he no longer plays in the band as far as I know he teaches Yoga in the UK

Is that the group that used to be just called The Beat? At least here in London anyway... great ska band... saw them in Camden about 1982. Fuck I'm old.

Same band......gig was sold out, had a really good time and want to stay in touch.....and not to worry I am old too :)

Phew, I thought it was just me...
From memory the 1982 Beat gig was at a large venue, probably the Forum in Kentish Town. They were a big name at the time, along with other big UK Ska acts like UB40, The Specials, Madness, Bad Manners... they were supported by the Tom Robinson Band, another blast from the past.
That was before the 80s went all mushy and new romantic... yuck.
