I've been an adult webmaster for coming up to three years now. Up until now all of my sites have been freesites - DVDs, directories and TGPs. I've now got a number of successful sites making some good solid money with a lot of traffic paasing through them.

I've decided to start of my first paysite. I've found a niche, managed to get some good content - pics and videos now I have a couple of questions before I start.

1. The members area, does anyone recommened a good script for handling the members area. At the moment I'm looking at using Mambo which can be customised to fit my needs, though is there anything more specialied out there?

2. The memberes areas galleries. The mambo galleries plugins aren't so good so I'm looking at creating these independantly of the script. I have photoshp that can create galleries though these look a little bland, are there any other programes that can create decent looking member area galleries that I should be looking at?

3. The design, my design skills aren't bad, though I'd be the first to admit they're some way off creating a good looking tour. Anyone recommend and good and reasonably priced designers that create good looking tours.

4. Anything else I should be looking at and bearing in kind?

Thanks,

Matt

Sitedepth is a good cms , designers really depends on what you want to spend i can recommend several, also decide if you want to run an affiliate system with free hosted galleries etc. Arles by digitaldutch is good for making galleries. Also think about what payment options you want to provide ie SMS Trial access , through to monthly payments. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help, I'll go take a look at sitedepth and arles.
I'm probably going to run with CCBill, at least initially as they're well trusted and seem to relatively hassle free.

Site depth is very good with nice templates.

Also look at...

http://www.mansionproductions.com/mas/ - hefty price but used by some of the big operators, had affiliate plugins etc

http://www.awizsoft.com/

Oki cms wise I'd go with sitedepth as well.
Pws protection I'd use strongbox and or pennywize.
Designer I'd recomend Alien, he acts like an asshat at times on certain entroweb boards, but talking to him on the phone you can't get more profesionsal and hes cheep to boot.
CCbill has a stock revs tracking thingo which is fine. You could also use Nats if you wanted the extra tricky stuffs.

For membership management it has to be www.ccbill.com or www.paycom.net and for password protection http://www.bettercgi.com/strongbox/

Also, both CCBill and Paycom handle your affiliate payments.. You just need to create the promo material :)

Yes, I would recommend Alien too. His designs convert and he is good to work with.

That Alien guy needs a better website, it's a mess imho. He also needs a portfolio, unless I'm missing it.

What sites has he done?

Wow just shows you, how you come accross on a forum really does effect your business. I wouldnt use him because of the way he is on GFY

Yeah, I noticed the lack of a portfoilo too, it's the first thing I'd take a look at when choosing a designer. Strange not to have one.
Any other recomendations?

It sort of depends on what you are after. Are you after someone to make the whole site from start to finish giving the the the fully functioning pay site wwith billing, members are and site all up and running or are you looking for just someone to do the design?

He has been around as long as the web and he has done hundreds of sites and worked behind the scenes for some of the biggest programs for years in a load of different areas. I really don’t think that he goes out of his way to find new clients and that’s why he changed his site a while back.

Just the design, I can handle all of the rest.

Justin at XXX Design (http://www.xxxdesign.co.uk/portfolio.html) has done some great work for me in the past. Also adult design (http://www.adultdesignstudios.com/) they are both worth checking out.

Yup re: Alien

He doesn't need to go hunting for new clients, new refurals and repeat customers from over the last 8 years would keep him busy for the next 10yrs alone.

Also now days he's into content production and scaling back on the design part, his HDD stuff is pritty smick.

About personas some people say how you act on a board is a reflection of how you run a business. That's total crap in my book, heck even I act like a tard on ICQ 90% of the time, keeps me sane. :)

People by from people. If you dont like someone you wont buy from them. The internet is no different. If I dont like someone I wont give them my money.

Yeahp I do agree with you in that aspect mate.

With Alien and similar others to me they've never slaged me off so I do biz with them. On the other hand some asshats I have dealt with and are now on my shitlist. That at times also has it's conundrums.

Example a nameless company has some sites that I found converted shit hot on my traffic, but their support and reps are twats, so I canned them. On one hand I'd love to smack them and on the other I can make major bank.
