What are the ones called that don't have that poxy tube thing coming out the back that you have to stick out the window - is it a condenser?

It is.

Just don't buy a washer/drier.

I had to buy a new one this week as the door thingie broke.

Ours does have a tube thingie out the back. I got it from sainsburys online, they deliver and take the old one away.

The biggest one you can get without a digital timer. You pay a lot extra for that little LCD screen, but of course, as you go up the product range, about halfway up you get forced to buy features that have no impact on drying clothes.

Biggest drum, biggest door, biggest weight capacity, least amount of crappy extras.

We have a Hoover, so its not even a "good" brand, but it works.

Condensers ;)

We had nowhere to vent a non-condenser one, so even though everyone told us the condenser ones were shite, we had to get one anyway.

Turns out they aren't that bad. They do still mist the place up a little, but work well enough.

Really, never seen one. Can't also understand why would anyone need one. But there was that other thread about vicars wearing the same clothes all the time.

So I assume that it is a good thing to have when you have just few shirts? :)

Cos some of us can afford not to have wet washing hung out all over the house to dry and making the place smell damp.

Lets just say that if you ever wanted to rinse your shirts here in sunny England, you wouldn't need a machine. Just put them out on the clothes line.

Hahaha. Ok I start to get the point

Dunno, don't have it all over the house and it definately doesn't smell damp either. Don't newer washing machines like almost dry the clothes already?

Dunno, maybe it is common there but I don't know anyone having such machine and it sounds kind a unnecceserry.

Dishwashing machine I can understand :)

And I keep forgetting that in so many ways eastern europe is still a decade or so behind the rest of us. LOL

Of course a tumble dryer isn't "necessary", neither is a washing machine or a dishwasher. But they're certainly things that you buy when you can afford them. I haven't done washing by hand, hanging out to dry since I was 19. In fact the only time I've even used a laundrette since then is when on holiday.

Why would a dishwasher be more necessary than a dryer? I'd rather wash the dishes by hand any day than have to hang the washing out (whether on an outside line or a clothes horse). But I'd rather not live without either.

Oh meh, I thought they were better lol. Well I'm the same, nowhere to put a non-condenser one at the moment, so not much choice there :clothesline:

The condenser ones are great. I had nowhere to put the pipe thing so i thought oh ill give the condenser one a go, probs be shit, i got a huge one cos we go though a lot of washing with a 6mth old baby and a 5 year old lad and its fantastic.

Empty the bottle thing and the filter after every load and they are good. Dont forget to empty them tho cos they leak if not, i didnt realise the light was on to say it was full, went out for an hour got back and there was water all over the floor!!

don't forget to remove the fluff from the filter on the door, this is best done by licking a finger then just scoop the fluff out :) :cheer:

Next week, I will be discussing how to get rid of those stubborn semen stains :) :geek: :chores003:
