This comming Wenesday England play Croatia in a vital Euro 2008 qualifying match at Wembley, the game is live on BBC1, kick off is 8pm.
England need to draw or win the game in order to get through to the finals which take place in Austria & Switzerland next summer.
Recent good performance by England should mean a fairly easy ride for the team as confidence is high & players battle for inclusion in the squad for next year although don't discount an early scare as so often is the way with our National team :noway2:
I predict another high scoring game with a solid victory for us but I do expect the Croates to get a Goal on the night.

Oh & I'd like to offer a warm welcome to all our friends up there in the Highlands who so sadly exited the competition last weekend but I'm certain are gonna get right behind the England team & cheer them all the way (It's a funny old game isn't it)

I see where you're comming from & totally agree that McLaren is a sack of shit, that said I do still want to see us in the Euros next summer so on balance am happy with the way things have panned out & ya never know McLaren might even be booted before the finals start (Fingers crossed) but who would we want to replace him ?

Personally I dont think Man City are as good as their current position dictates, I honestly think that there are crap times ahead for them & think that the shit is about to hit the fan & they'll start dropping like a stone soon & will struggle to finish in the top half of the table this season, as I say though, just a personal view.

I think we'll win it by a decent margin but as I mentioned above I think there might be a scare & I do think them pesky Croates will get a goal.

Paul Robinson will play no part in England's vital Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday after being dropped by coach Steve McClaren.
The Spurs goalkeeper is replaced by Scott Carson, with David James his back-up on the Wembley bench.
Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is set to replace David Beckham.
Gareth Barry is expected to join Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole in a five-man midfield, with Peter Crouch on his own up front.

Want to see McClaren out as well but still want to see England qualify. The guy should never have been given the job in the first place but he was one of the few candidates out there willing to suck the FA's cock and thats a priority requirement for any English manager.

I noticed during the goal celebrations that there were a couple of women in the crowd. Now whilst I fully understand the sentiments, and very laudable they are too, it does seem a little odd in the light of a big important match like this that there are likely to be a couple of chaps left ticketless.

Does anyone think having 4 non regular first team players, top leagues, had any effect on the game?
We finished with Crouch, who had one of his best games for England on a bad surface. But still sits on the bench at Liverpool.
Beckham who was to me one of England's stars, but plays now in the States for a second rate team.
Defoe, did little except get his shirt tugged. Often gets 20 minutes at Spurs.
Bent, does he get 20 minutes at Spurs on a regular basis? OK to be honest I'm not sure how long they get, but they are not starting on a regular basis.
To play top flight football you need to play top flight football. So why do these 4 sit on the bench or play for second rate teams? The answer is obvious, money over career.
As for the goal keeper this again was another stupid gamble by a stupid manager. David James sitting on the bench is a far safer pair of hands, Green who plays for West Ham is not even there. And Hargreaves sat it out, why?
We were beaten by the better side and finished where we deserved to finish look at Steve McClaren's record in charge of England and you see the real reason we will not be going to Austria next year. The man is not up to the job.
As xcite has already said Gerrard and Lampard cannot play in the same team....

Just quoting my initial post on this...... 7/1 was outstanding odds, for a 2 horse race, so to speak.....
Any last night.... Gerrard and Lampard CANNOT play together...... Feel sorry for Carson, but he shouldnt have been selected before James, Crouch was good but by having Gerrard and Lampard in the team he had no one like Defoe or Bent to play alongside him, Engerland got a lucky penalty theres loads more I could write, but wont bore you all..... But lets credit Croatia who played Engerland off the park..
MacLaren will go this morning, the only reason he didnt resign last night was to keep a payoff from the FA... £2 1/2 mill quids aint bad.....
