View Full Version : Prosecutor Announces Charges Against The Pirate Bay

Two interesting bits of the article
One of the biggest surprises is that the prosecutor plans to press charges against the well-known Swedish neo-fascist Carl Lundstrom......................................... .................................................. ...........................It is not unlikely that Roswall decided to include Lundstrom in the list of suspects to manipulate public opinion.

Whatever the outcome of this case will be, The Pirate Bay have already announced that they’re here to stay. They told us that they will simply move to another country if they are outlawed in Sweden, without downtime!
a canuck guy keeps telling me downloading pirated stuff is legal over there. no idea about providing stuff, but it does not look like the pirate bay guys necessarily need to move to one of the usual suspects' (eastern block) places.
demonoid has been taken off-line
It's about time they are taken down.
The Sewdish Prosecutor Roswall is at least having
a go them.
Bittorrent has made deals with the main stream studios
and has stopped tpb using its software.
The main stream studios are going after them as well.
But how can you deal with such a nutter when he makes statements
like this;
This from an article Friday.
"P***** B**, on the other hand, has been the target of an increasingly vigorous effort on the part of the Motion Picture Association of America and others to shut down the site. P***** B** was down briefly last year, after Swedish authorities seized its servers. The site was back up in less than a week, though, and its servers have since been relocated to undisclosed locations.
“Even we don't know where they are,” Sunde said of the servers. “They are spread across Europe.”
Sunde said P***** B** is trying to raise money to purchase an island where it could create its own nation-state and declare piracy legal. The group has raised approximately $20,000 thus far, according to Sunde.
P***** B***’s three founders already are facing criminal piracy charges, but Sunde said he isn’t concerned about the pending charges, because under Swedish law the worst punishment they face if found guilty is a $300 fine.
“I don’t believe what we are doing is a crime,” Sunde said. “It is a stupid game.”
