When Big Brother was on, I grabbed the DigitalSpy rss feed and it displayed updates on a little gizmo that's part of the vista sidebar...

I noticed in ie& there's a feeds button that is active on this page of B&B.
I clicked it, assuming it would give me an update feed, for when new posts are made...

All it says is
Internet Explorer does not support feeds with DTDs.

So, is that what the feed button is supposed to do? If so, how do I do it, or are the B&B feeds something else?

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????
I like Question Marks!

I don't think B&B have an XML feed ...

Yeah, I dunno... Its funny though, cause in IE7 the feed button lights up when Im on this forum, but not on xxx or other places...
I know you use firefox, but there must be something there to make it light up, if it doesnt do it elsewhere...

What makes it light up is the rss meta-tag. Sites with rss can/should declare the existance and location of their rss feed in the metas, this allows spiders and feed readers a quick and easy way to find the feed. B&B has such a meta tag.

Try using a standalone RSS client. Two Windows ones I liked are FeedDemon and RSS Bandit. The latter is free and has a spectacularly good name.

I have no issues with the feed in my RSS client.

Any benefits to using standalone RSS readers? I feel that the one built into Firefox is satisfactory ....

Try feeddemon and see. That's the best in terms of features.
