Batch image conversion

Any recommendations of batch image converting software to convert from tif to jpg and at the same time reduce the physical size and weight of the images and also rename them to a common convention?

Have used Batch-It in the past - any better ones out there? This is for a one off project of about 2000 images so something cheap would be appreciated!
