DVT was introducing his latest invention to a britbirds Unlimited dot com convention.

He explained that after numerous tests in his nature garden, he had developed a special insulation for high powered electrical lines.

This insulation guaranteed to save thousands of birds who unwittingly land on the lines and are electrocuted each year.

As DVT was appealing for donations, Alf Garnett, an avid bird fancier, stood up and told DVT to sling his fucking hook!

What was wrong with DVT's claim??

no bird big enough to touch 2 lines at the same time can fly in first place. touching a single line doesn't do you any harm until you touch a second line or the ground.
