Ok so the little one has been having a couple of rough nights lately which meant I've had very little time to do work and sleep (done hardly any of both :() as she's also been a bit ill too. She's went to bed and about an hour ago and it's given me a chance to catch up on some work but my eyes are really drooping and I'm finding it hard to stay alert!
Any ideas on what I can do to keep myself awake so I can get more work done?!?
I can't drink coffee as it gives me migraines and we're all outta that energy pill stuff so come on, hit me with something lol!:innocent0001:

Umm, it's dark cold and wet outside...and other than fields there not many places to walk around here lol...if all else fails I could try walking around in the garden for ten minutes LOL...
Get a load of wizz and crack on ;)
Crystal Meth Ampheatime... Always works for me...
Alternatively RedBull...

Forgot to mention that I'm a good girl and don't do drugs lol. But energy drink, I hadn't thought of. Just happen to have a couple lying around in the fridge too :D

Surely if you are that tired the work will suffer anyway?

Not really, just means it takes me twice as long as I have to concetrate twice as hard and it's hard enough to concentrate for me as it is!

So go to bed, have a nice sleep and then spend half as much time in the morning/afternoon/evening tomorrow ;)

Yeah but that's not good if I have to have a certain amount done by tomorrow now is it ;) Not a deadline but I do have to cover quite a bit of work as I don't really get a chance to work in the mornings, the joy of balancing work and mummyhood :/
(Only two days to go till she starts nursery :D:D)

open a window, the cold air will 'help' for a while.

also, say a prayer to the good lord jebus.
Sit on some drawing pins whilst you work, though you'd be better off going to bed and setting the alarm early.
bring yourself to the absolute edge of orgasm and....
break off and go do something more productive.
the adrenalin should pump enough to get three hours work done in one.

Lol that's a great plan but for reasons I'll not discuss that wouldn't quite work lol ;)
I'm past the sleepy stage, at the overtired and abusing the cats stage - fuckers keep meowing!
now that could be a niche!

26 minutes of sleep. Otherwise known as a "Nasa Nap" less than that, no benefit, more than that and you wake up drowsy - if you wake up at all for the next 10 hours!
Less caffeine also helps. Drowsy afternoons/evenings are the backlash from all that morning coffee.
Having a siesta early afternoon when you aren't that tired also helps with evening energy, but requires planning! (And the admission that you will be tired later if you don't!)
Fighting sleep is bad - if you're badly sleep deprived you're as poorly coordinated and as bad at decision making as if you are drunk. Real brain work is for mornings, repetitive dull crap that just needs doing is for late at night. When you're tired you are actually slower at thinking than when you're not, so don't make life even more hellish by trying to do the very thing you're bad at, at the time you're worst and slowest at doing it.
But the short answer is, if you are tired and sleepy, its sleep you need, nothing else really works, so why fight it?

Dont drink coffee and dont drink much tea now either, dont touch coke so not much caffeine goes into me :)
What's a siesta?
I don't get to work in the mornings because of the little un, which makes things tough. I watch her during the day, and work in between (when she's watching her fave movies ;))and then when she goes down to bed I'm in official work mode and have to work until I complete what I need to do that night...
She's got her first afternoon at nursery tomorrow though fingers crossed she doesn't beat anyone up, destroy the toys and throw hissy fits!
She'll be in nursery a few afternoons a week so that'll give me a solid block of 5 hours to work and then another couple of hours when she goes to bed and I won't need to do anymore late nights ;)
What's a siesta? Its the two hour nap at lunchtime people in spain have.
