Gloves do pretty well ;)
But seriously, people will only tell you what they are doing, so if i say gloves its cos i am doing well with gloves. If someone says shemale its cos they are doing well with shemale. Just cos someone is doing well with a niche doesn't mean you will.

I know, thats why i asked, hard to make up the mind about what to promote, what is kinda "in" and what is not necessarily out but over saturated. Thats why im always on the lookout for unsual niches, like jodhpurs for instance :)

many people won't let it slip what "new" niches are working for them
at least until they've made a few bob and started dominating it,
in which case the niche will become obvious due to it's sheer profile,
gloves niche certainly isn't new . . but it has crossover/combo possibilities
and as basic clothing, they often "sub" feature in unrelated niches & content
in the very early days of Lady Sonia, i bet SGS wouldn't have encouraged
everyone to jump on the femdom paysites . . but now he's laughing,
and now we all know it's a lucrative, albeit tougher niche, if handled well,
encouraging femdom affiliates, yes for traffic, but if a 'paysite' niche
is working for you, logically, why would you announce it and invite direct competition ?
Johnny Kleenexxx
09-22-07, 06:29 PM
course you may announce the site to affiliates
and often affiliates will start pushing a new niche based on a new site
so obviously people will know what niche you're in, in that respect
my point is, why tell them it's lucrative until you've made a few bob
and are one of the top sites in the niche ? . . just makes life harder imho

There are three I know of, that being one of them. I was going to mention it earlier but the tour is about as leaky as something that has a really bad leak.

but the tour is about as leaky as something that has a really bad leak.
seems a lot of people who use verotel
don't get the concept of "leak free" tours
i wouldn't send to that tour yet either tbh
she is a damn hard worker though, has to be said,
i set her up on Southern Charms . . and she ran with it
seems like i potentially created a monster though,
her first ever gloves/gloved handjob shoot was with me
and now she's hitting some of my niches hard . . doh,
so i ain't helping plug the holes in that tour :oldman:
this glove thing is a real mess . . literally

I have noticed on a lot of solo dom/mistresses sites that have a affiliate program with ccbill yet they always have a mother of a toplist on their mainpage or a link section going to a toplist, or they have friends galleries on main page! Im better their signups would improve if they did away with all that!

i agree mate
only use my freesites or paysite index pages for recips / backlinks,
link/banner farms within a site or tour is never gonna encourage affiliates,
although i think a lot of these sites do okay with targetted hardlink traffic,
be surprised how many people misunderstand the basics of an aff program

Their sign ups might improve but their bookings for sessions would decrease too I imagine.
*Most* Dommes / Mistresses core activity is real time sessions with pay sites being an additional income stream, therefore the prominance of a toplist link is vital to them to ensure that real time session enquiries continue (Via maximum exposure) even if that is at the potential expense of losing the odd sign up here & there. :)

To me, "competition" is not the best way of looking at this - I have helped others create sites in niches that I am involved with because this creates "partnerships."
Not everybody markets in the same way - Likewise, not every surfer googles his way to his/her specific niche finds.
Consequently, the more paysites out there doing their own marketing brings many more people into the mix - The more sites working traffic deals or simply cross-linking creates more sales for all.

i take your point
but i still think in some cases it could come back to haunt,
particularly in the tighter microniches, it's a much smaller world
like the example i gave earlier . .
you shoot several exclusive scenes with a model in a particular microniche
and she subsequently establishes a site devoted to that exact same niche
packed with very similar content to the scenes you paid her for initially,
then the value of "that particular model" in "that particular microniche"
is undoubtedly diminished and the strength of your content is diluted.
the amount of devaluation is debatable, but it certainly won't enhance it.
surfers in microniche can very quickly get an idea of the main paysites
that "hit their spot" . . in the broader more popular niches they could surf
a lifetime and still not see all the "big tits" "teens" type sites available,
but when the niche is more restricted, it could quite easily come down
to a surfer choosing between your site or the site you 'helped' create,
so i don't think the word "competition" is out of place in that scenario.
i understand the logic behind stimulating and encouraging 'affiliates'
to push your niche, but when it comes to paysites, other than a hardlink
outside of the tour, i won't tempt my surfers with a very similar product
that ultimately won't benefit me financially in any way unless i send
them traffic as an affiliate . . and then to a leaky tour ? . . nah thanks,
a "partnership" sounds good but is rarely equally lucrative imho.
it's a business at the end of the day . . if you apply your analogy
of "helping competition" to mainstream businesses, it's rarely done.
do you see many dry cleaners helping other dry cleaners to set
up shop on their street ? . . loose analogy, but you see my point,
i could fully understand the dry cleaners encouraging a restaurant
to move in next-door due to the dirty laundry it could generate . .

there are no new niches. Never has been.
in the strictest sense i agree,
but i was referring to their internet profile, so "new" in terms of the web
most of us don't "create niches" we simply service pre-existing desires
and i'm sure not suggesting any niches i work in are groundbreaking
but there are "new web niches", niches that are not being comprehensively
catered to online . . a recent example http://www.kleanxqueens.com
regardless of our personal opinions, it IS technically a new niche online
so tying back to my previous post . .
affiliates are now hitting the "wet kleenex" niche in the hope of finding
the traffic that will convert with that site . . BUT i doubt if the creators
of that site will be assisting other programs in establishing a ton of
other 'wet kleenex related' paysites to tempt those same affiliates with
'there are no new niches, never has been'
I don't agree.

i take your point

(1) you shoot several exclusive scenes with a model in a particular microniche
and she subsequently establishes a site devoted to that exact same niche
packed with very similar content to the scenes you paid her for initially,
then the value of "that particular model" in "that particular microniche"
is undoubtedly diminished and the strength of your content is diluted.

(3) i understand the logic behind stimulating and encouraging 'affiliates'

that ultimately won't benefit me financially in any way unless i send

1) I have had this happen - I actually encouraged it - I had the traffic going to my paysite and, on cancellation, I moved them to the new site - Worked then and still works now - (I count 50% given to me by that webmaster a huge bonus - The member had decided to leave my site anyway.
2) Well - Knowing what niche specific surfers are like - He will join soon enough - Once he joins, if my content is good enough, he'll stay a while and come back time and again - Cancellation time is my time to make extra cash from him.
3) Affiliate traffic isn't mine - That comes and goes and I do my best to cnvert it - But when it leaves, it goes where it wants - My own traffic that doesn't sign up, depending where it comes from, may end up at a site I promote!
4) Right - This is a 2 faced business where even your "friends" pull your tongue looking to make the same as you - That happens - Win some, lose some - If you can see they are trying to use you, a bit of bad advice doesn't go amis - (Unfortunately, this is a lesson I learned the hard way through helping those theiving cunts at sunnydollars set up - At that time, I didn't know that they were just a bunch of car theives (one hacker) and I have spent the last 8 years regretting it and paying for it by having my servers fucked with each and every day)
However - There are quite a few sites out there now where I gave advice to the webmaster and our traffic trades are extremely worthwhile
