Ok so I finally bought my first ipod mp3 thingy and downloading a load of songs for it, already downloaded all the chart shit I like anyone else got some good recommendations?

I'm pretty flexible with music that I like although I'm really not into veg and shephers pie stuff - so any other recommendations to shove onto this thing?

what on earth is 'veg and shepherds pie' stuff?

That's a pretty broad question, I have about 40gb of music on my PC, all of which I could recomend. Maybe you could name some stuff you like so people can go in the right direction?

Ahh I'm sure when a certain someone sees it he will know what I mean by the veg nonsense.

Umm what do I like? I like a lot of different things - a lot of the latest chart hits I am quite into...
Kanye West, Akon, Proclaimers, Shakira, Beyonce, Maroon 5, Hard Fi, David Guetta, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, KT Tunstall, Kate Nash, Jame Blunt, Rihanna, Usher, Mika, Newton Faulkner - so quite different stuff :) Anything that's got a funky beat as this ipod is what's going to keep me going through my gym sessions :(

Wouldn't really say all of that is very different buy horses for course

Check out

Candie Payne - like KT Tunstall, Kate Nash
Jack Johnson - like Newton Faulkner but better
M.I.A - abosultly nothing like anything you like, but recent albumn is my current fav.
If you like the new Kanye West song then look up Daft Punks -Discovery album.

If you like Fergie then please go and checkout of all of the Black Eyed Pees stuff Pre-Fergie and see how badly things went for them when she joined, I pray that her solo career is succefull so she can fuck off and they can start making good music again.

Probably worth checking out the new Timbaland album, what with you liking chart music, and pretty much anything charty comming out of american now is either made by him, or someone who want to sound like him.

Will check those out :)

I only like that one song from timbaland - dont like 50 cent nonsense. Those songs up there are pretty much the only songs from those r&b style artists I like...

I didn' like the black eyed peas full stop but I don't mind fergie on her own - only some of her songs though lol.

Sign up with www.last.fm

It's great. It has a little daemon app that sends info to last.fm about what songs you play. It builds up a profile and then when you log on recommends stuff based on what you are listening too.

Very good.

Also you might like www.emusic.com - it's cheaper than iTunes, DRM free and fast.

Don't think you want my suggestions,if it's not a goth chick with a classical instrument,I'm not interested.Last FM's pretty good especially for mainstream stuff, but be sure to mess about with the obscurity slider,or not!

Josh Ritter, going to see him tomorrow night.

His last album Animal Years was fantastic, not sure about his new one as I have only played it once.

M.I.A. is awesome- I love that song Bamboo Banga and Hussel. Still think the first album had the edge though with Galang.

I have to admit that I didn't really like the first ablbum when I heard it, but I think I should probably revisit it now I 'get it'
