whois protection services?

are there any independant whois protection services that are not part of a registrar?

I have some domains I want whois protection for but the service is not offered with my registrar, I really could not be arsed transfering my domains to another registrar like godaddy for whois protection so was just wondering if anyone knew of any independant whois protection services?

I've had sod all luck in finding any myself

when tracking down services, mind that domainsbyproxy.com is basically godaddy, including the 'top notch' service godaddy and its unsuspecting resellers, often signed up to godaddy through wildwestdomains.com, offer...

for future registrations, as you shouldn't have all your domains with one registrar anyway, maybe have an eye on namecheap.com, you get one year free whois protection with every domain. the service is given out as a voucher as such, which can be used for any domain in the portfolio.

that's rather possible. service and reliability however come at a price, too. obviously that doesn't matter to hobbyists.

if you have a number of domains worth mentioning, namecheap, like many other registrars, offers a better deal. again, nothing that would be relevant for the hobbyists, so you most likely wouldn't know about these things. :)

Hobbyists normally have several dedicated boxes and at least
50 sites, that's what i heard anyway.
