I'd appreciate any help on this one:

My Mother has just bought her first PC and is getting connected to Talk-Talk Broadband.

The main reason for getting the PC is for Internet, Skype and email.

Question: As I'm not based in the UK and not up to speed with all the different services, which is the best way to get her an email address ?

Sorry for appearing a complete novice but unfortunately she thinks I'm a computer whizzkid and I'd hate to spoil the illusion !

I'd appreciate any advice from the real whizzkids

Cheers

Vince

As far as I know when you sign up for talk-talk broadband you get an email address from them.

just tell her to signup for gmail, simplest way, best spam/phishing protection

I would go for Gmail, see below for link to signup page …

If you use the free email provided by your ISP (i.e. Talk Talk) and then decide to change ISP’s you also have to change your email address, if you use Gmail or any other free email provider not tied to an ISP you can keep the same email address for life
