Heh, I got totally ripped first time I sold a phone a few years back on eBay. I got greedy & got scammed. Lesson learned the hard way. The person sent me the money by Paypal, I sent the phone, then the money disappeared. Did some Googling on the address (in Indonesia - fuck, how stupid am I??) and found a forum where people were moaning about the same person (or gang) having done the same thing with expensive watches & jewellery as well.

Second time I sold a phone I got 3 offers similar to yours and they all got a big juicy "FUCK OFF".

eBay sometimes amazes me - i paid £303 for the phone 5 months ago and sold it for more than this!
Went to a UK buyer so fingers crossed.

Yeah it's nuts. You almost always get a good price for 2nd hand phones. I'm on contract & change my phone every year, I can get the newest most expensive phone going & my old one almost always covers the cost. Sweet!

it's helpful to have a phone that isn't available elsewhere and sell it there, the prizes paid are fascinating. a Motorola A925 sells for hundreds in France for example. put up your offer with a french text and make it an international auction or log in to ebay.fr right away, with your data to make sure al the frenchies see it without having to look for offers outside of the country.

compare the UK price (50 quid as i post, 5 mins to go) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTOROLA-A925-TOUCHSCREEN-PHONE-PDA-EXTRAS-MINT_W0QQitemZ6434368805QQcategoryZ67922QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

to the french one (190 EUR as i post, with 2 days to go still) - http://cgi.ebay.fr/MOTOROLA-A925NEUF-BLUETOOTH-Headset-32MB-CARD_W0QQitemZ5809203716QQcategoryZ9359QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

the A1000 will have even better prices these days.

Weirdly enough, I sold my old Sony Ericsson P900 for £150 to a guy in France.

well, the UK one sold for 51 quid, which is around 75 euro, the french with 2 days to go is already 3 times as expensive.

i know a few folks who got themselves loads of A925 last xmas, when they sold them off for 49 euro each as pre-pay phone, none of them was sold for lesss than 250 in France then, nice cut. if you got yourself the maximum of 5 phones they sold to each person, there'd be a cut of 700+ quid.
