I've noticed a domain of mine i unintentionally let expire, it's currently in redemption period status.

If you've re-reg'd a domain thats lapsed, but not yet deleted, how much did yer registrar charge you ... or try to charge you?

Geezer told me about a similar case the other day, the amounts were rather ridiculous, over 100 EUR each, IIRC.

$200 this particular registrar wants. Can't be that much hassle for them to submit a renewal request surely :ninja:

nope, but you suggested interest. demand pushes the price. i always thought in cases like that it might be best to shut up, use another registrar and backorder the domain there. like godaddy does it for 18 bucks, we just got an awesome typo domain through that service.

now tha tyour current registrar knows about your interest, they are going to keep it themselves most likley and wait for you to pay even more once you lost it for good. that's what i'd do anyway.

nah, had already decided that I wasnt gonna dig it out of redemption - its not a great domain - just has the odd avs site tucked away on it IIRC. Was more curious if all registrars bend you over backwards to the same extent when the odd renewal slips thru yer net.

No not all do with reg 123 they just charge you the registration fee just the same as normal I believe

We have everything of ours with DirectNIC but a guy who works for us had one that was with some crappy little reseller accidentally expire and it cost us about $100 to rescue it and get it transferred to DirectNIC.
