I must admit, it's darn good entertainment is Hell's kitchen. I have a lot of respect for Gordon.
Gorden Ramsey is incredibly rude and needs a good beating.
May I please? Awww please? :eyebrows:

I am also a head chef and for what Gordon does and the fact he is the only 3 Michelin starred chef that we have in the UK I have a hell of alot of respect for him...
But.. Regarding the way he speaks to people and portrays chefs to be (all be it we are arrogant, pig headed, narrow minded fuckers! ) far far worse than is actually true.
There is a severe shortage of qualified chefs in this country and it's him acting like a total cock-sucker in the limelight that puts even more young people off.
:asshole: David blunkett decided a few years back that being a chef was a low-skilled job - something I find equally as insulting - considering after that speech I bet the fuckwit went to a nice restaurant and was fed by the 'low-skilled chefs' he just totally demoralised.
...As you can tell it's something i'm very pasionate about! lol
qualified as in having 10 certificates on the wall or qualified as in preparing a delightful dish?
I'm sure Gordon is a marvellous chef. I just think he'd look delightful trussed up and beaten is all :)

Qualified as in having certificates!! :crown:
...like I am.
When I say that I mean to the extent you walk into a sushi bar, you desperately want Puffer Fish (poisonous if not prepared correctly)... which chef are you going to choose to cook your meal?
1) The new Junior Comis Chef that is just out of school OR
2) The Executive Chef who has a string of qualifications that he has had to prove his knowledge?
... I reckon we would all like to think that the people that handle our food actually have the knowledge to be able to do so, and do it safely.
As I said he is one of the best in his field, but sadly Gordon puts people off becoming as great as he is by acting like a tosser while in the limelight... It is however what makes great TV.
we may have different opinions about the value of certificates.
skill and talent come by practice, not by learning something by heart. only the other day i learned that one of the biggest idiots i went to school with, a guy who struggled to make it through school in fact, runs a well doing promotion agency. his grades nor his school perforance would have made you expect him to do more than sweeping the streets.

Ok, I see your point. Certificates show that you have studied it and been tested to a certain level that you understand the reasoning for something... I admit that it doesn't automatically make you the best in your field. Knowledge and experience are both to play.
Maybe I should have re-phrased what I said by saying...
" ..which chef are you going to choose to cook your meal?
1) The new Junior Comis Chef that is just out of school OR
2) The Executive Chef who has a string of qualifications AND THE EXPERIENCE that he has to prove his knowledge AND COMPETENCE?
... My point remains the same though, I have met the guy in his own restaurant and he is a lovely guy, he has done alot for the restaurant business. However; Gordon has, does and will continue to put people off joining the trade of becoming chefs through his foul mouth and the way he intimidates people and shows a VERY FALSE portrayal of how kitchens run - This is simply not the case, and it is fact the way HE runs a kitchen.

Cos he is scared of the competition I suppose, yeah right! :lmao2:

Who said anything about him being scared?
I said he puts people off becoming as great as he is, I don't think I said anything like what you are trying to say... did I?
I think we all have our views, everything I have said is from the honest view of another chef and many, many, many others in the industry.
If you like the way he is - Cool... I'd love to see you last a day with him! :lmao2:

At least we both think he's great :)
If I had the chance of winning a $1,000,000 restaurant I would certainly give it a go.
He knows his stuff and whether you like him or not he knows what he is talking about.
