MS Paint rocks, all the pros use it.

This is the best thing I've seen done in Paint. Aside from the olympic logo:

I thought one of DVT's paintballing babes had designed the 2012 logo by splattering paint on Yorkshire wall, no?!

I just hope the Olympics will not be another dome.

I still can't get my head round the fact that it cost 789 million quid and now stands empty...

The dome was a sham. All the infrastructure that was put in place, road and rail links etc, were NOT for the dome but for whatever will be built when they decide the heat is off and can move their original plans forward.

I cannot believe we are spending billions on hosting these games when 1 in 5 kids in this country are living below the poverty line and we have homeless on the street

the dome itself was not a sham. it was expensive to clear up the area as it was very poluted.

what was a sham was what they used it for.

also they should have let that french chap use it as he said he could have done somthing with it.

the problem with the olipics is that i suspect no one ever thought the ukl would get it.

it is far a start in the wrong placer, much better to place it in such as birmingham where it would have been easy to get to.

i supect it will be a farce.

i suspect it will be expensive and people will not be happy with the bill.

fingers crosed and its built by polish workers, otherwise it will never be built on time.

Possibly, but as I am sure you know, it is in fact referencing goatse, which makes the fact the BBC didn't realise and are hosting the image even better.

:)

Also my mate's dad wrote the Rhubarb & Custard music.

:)Goatse? I'm still on Banksy. You know the council painted over the Pulp Fiction with bananas thing at old street? I'm not sure if thats ironic, post modern, de-constructed or just plain playful.

Also my mate's dad wrote the Rhubarb & Custard music. Does it have a long tail?

When seeing the static logo yesterday I must admit to the same "wtf" reaction as the rest of you. First impression is definitely against it.

But on seeing the animated advertising version (and lets face it most of us are going to see it mostly online and on tv) I've changed my mind. It works in the animated sense much more than any "elegant" logo could or would. I believe it does the job it was supposed to do. It will brand the london olympics as inclusive, colourful and vibrant, something to get excited about and involved in.

See for yourself how it's used in advertising video footage.
http://www.london2012.com/about-newlook-video.html

It's a new-look logo for a modern olympics. It's not a logo to stick on a shirt or letterhead. It's been specifically designed to be active/interactive.

fuck me every one is an art critic. No one would have been happy what ever the logo looked like.

Problem is we are a nation full of moaners.

On newsnight they said at the start that it looks like lisa simpson doing somthing unpleasent.

In other words this logo is now a joke worldwide, which refelcs on the uk.

The IOC charman seems to like it.

Commenting on the new logo, Mr Oswald said: "I love it. It's very simple. We have a fantastic logo, it's very creative, very young and very dynamic. I'm very enthusiastic about it."
