how the hell do 'tube' sites make money?

take a look on youporn.com - one advert for zangofriendfinder, some text ads and a shit load of categorised porn videos that are hardly teaser length. the only way i can see this site is making money is by selling ad space to aff? Surely the bandwidth charges alone make running a site like that totally pointless? Not to mention the fact that its giving away a frigging years supply of free porn?!?!

Well I remember youtube didnt make a profit, they were losing tonnes a day, but they carried on in the hopes of some huge company buying them out, which indeed happend.

It may be that they are thinking long term and swallowing the short term loses.

Like you say its giving away a years supply of free porn. People are going to be visiting it for years to come.

i suspect many are doing it on getting huge traffic, then sell the sites for big bucks or add adverts.

Also as a side note, as bandwidth and storage space gets cheaper, the profit margins will grow. So really they are probably doing this just to get a huge traffic base.
