Was watching something on tv yesterday (well what else have i got to do since this babys never coming) and they were talking about the Gov wanting to put new born babies DNA on record, so if they commited a crime later in life they would have the information stored on a data base and therefore catch the criminal. I just wondered what you all thought about this and if u thought it was a good idea?
I personally think it isnt because that baby has no choice on there details been stored ready to catch them out. I dont think id like the idea of my details being used in this way. Saying that we would have people being caught for a crime they have done and nobody being falsly accused. People maybe out off crime by this and the prisons wont be as full.
What do you think??

thqats the line they feed you. scare you into beliving this will be true.
once a goverment has all our dna then they can controll where we go, what we do.
its like the george orwell book thing. they do this for 'our' benifit they say.
but we all just stick our heads in the sand and pretend its all ok as its only going to affect others and not us (we hope).
in a few years time we will have no rights in the uk. none at all.

Oh i agree i wouldnt want my details stored on some database or my childrens so they can have yet another thing to control how i live and what i do. Everytime something happens in the area my details will be looked at as if im some kind of criminal and that does worry me. I dont think its compulsory for all new born babies to have DNA samples taken its stupid, but i was just asking if anyone thought it could benefit us in the long run? cos i cant see many reasons to suggest it will.

but they already are.
your life is now stored on computer.
if you use a debit or credit card to buy anything, its recorded. so we know what you buy and where and when you buy.
if you have a mobile phone then as long as its turned on your tracked. at any time somone can easily see where you was at any day or time.
then cctv tracks you.
most firms have your details.
and as for dna, police take this if they areest you. even if your not charged. and they will probably soon take your dna even if they stop you as you drive.
it will not be long before they have at least the bulk of our dna records. then they will use that as an excuse to get everyone elses. then id cards.
then they will (they have said they will) sell youir data to other firms/businesses.
I will give you my opinion later, but till then. When is that baby of yours due? You seem to have been pregnant about 2 years

Also you've got to question security. Do you trust the government/other organisations to hold all this info. on you? What if it is hacked? Scary! :noway2:

I was thinking the same, who could actually see these details?? :dorsetpolice:
This kind of thing, oddly enough is one of the reasons I decided to give adult webmastering another go. it's getting to the point where they want to control every last detail of your life in this country, ID cards, DNA records, boxes in your car to show where you are and how long you took going there.
I want to build a business that I can run from anywhere, and then I can fuck off somewhere where I can live my life the way I wish within reasonable limits.
I think we need more controls and the sooner the better, so what if someone hacks and gets my details. The bin men have access to a fucking huge amount of information.
So someone uses my identity and commits crime and I get banged up and gang raped by the boys inside. As far as I can see its just all bonuses.

The crazy thing is its not just about if the individual commits a crime.
Theres been cases recently of burglars getting caught through DNA, and the coppers find DNA similarities to other crimes and then nabbing an uncle for something that happened 10 yrs ago. They can even tell what relation they are.
Imagine Heidi turns bank robber. She leaves some DNA at the crime scene, although her details are not on the register, her childs are. The coppers can then find Heidi via the nippers DNA profile. The little ones turned grass without his/her knowledge.
