If I was you, I would fill your car with fuel today, as prices are going up big.

while this statemet is correct, it's not exactly a new one. i hardly recall any price reductions in that field. :D

Did anyone see that proggy on BBC2 a couple of weeks ago... No waste like home or something, got a guy from Birmingham running his van on Chip Fat. Reckoned it ran smoother than running it on diesel and cost him nothing as he got the waste Cooking oil from his local chippy.

Coversions can be done by quite a few garages for about £1000. Food for thought... no pun intended. :)

There is a petrol station somewhere near me that lets you fill up with the cherry, but I wouldn't chance it. You get caught they will take your motor.

With things going on in the usa, it will bring prices up a lot.

we'd all have to live off chips only if everyoen wnated to do that though. :D

i recall a report showing a farmer running his car and all machines with diesel he made from plants. whe nasked why he wouldn't sell it, he said that all his harvest is just about enough to keep his stuff running.

Good. The dearer it gets the better. I would far rather pay more for fuel and have less traffic.

Biodiesel can be made at home. Techniques easily available online - any diesel vehicle can run on it. But to make it legally you have to pay duty to the government which makes it hardly any cheaper than petro-diesel.

Test drove a new dual fuel “S” type for a weekend a couple of years ago while ours was on order but LPG really wasn’t widely available enough to have made it worth the inconvenience back then.

it's 91.9 for unleaded now.. hows that compare for everyone else??

If it keeps up like this i'm definately going to have to trade in for an
oil burner...

Currently €1.08, cheapest at moment, that's £0.74 per litre.

Will be €1.29 from midnight, that's £0.88

Will have to start thinking about veg oil !

WTF? a jump of 21 cent? how do they explain that one?

FWIW, if you take the oil prices of the early 1980s and add inflation and shit since then, it would have cost 80 US$, guess we are in for a nice ride yet.

Majority of garages were €1.12. I was getting my petrol at the only cheap garage at €1.08. Announced on news yesterday evening that petrol prices throughout the country from midnight last night would increase by 15% to €1.29 per litre because of Hurricane Katrina. I haven't gone out to check yet, but I'm pretty sure the majority of garages have increased, looking at the queues yesterday evening at the pumps.

I ain't going far today, trying to save my fuel :)

I've peeked out today and the dearest around my area is €1.16 per litre.

Am I the only person in the world who hasn't got a fucking clue how much petrol is per litre/pint/gallon? I just stick the the nozzle in the little hole and squirt (I know a lot of you do similar), then go and hand over the shiney bit of plastic my bank gave me.

Im kinda like that now but I used to care and with a car that can go as low as 10 - 12 per gallon it would have been very expensive now but I got promoted in my day job last year and now I get a petrol card from work which covers all business and personal mileage so I go for the expensive stuff (optimax and that sorta thing) and the price at the pump doesnt really annoy me. Having said that though the big issue is taxation - 80% of the cost of fuel is tax so while the current environmental issues and wars etc are pushing the price up if the government werent such greedy bastards we would all be paying a hell of a lot less - yet more stealth taxes.

We just filled ours up at 94.3p but that was super unleaded cos they'd sold out of unleaded at 88.3p per litre.

They reckon unleaded it gonna go up to 99.9p with some places at 103.5p!!!

Crazy shit

Don't you guys/gals with your shiny plastic thingies realise if petrol and deisel prices soar, so will everything else, shopping, taxis, papers, etc.

It could be just a case of you all being very wealthy :)

Well from the 12th, we could have a big stop in the UK. Fuel could run out and so on.

OK, this time the UK has the army and new powers, but its will be interesting.

Plus there may be a lot more support this time than last.

This is only next Monday.

Not sure why I thought it was the 12th. Anyway wed is not long off.

But the UK has the army now so the blocks unless done very well may not do much.

Last time they backed down very quickly as well.

I worry about whether we will win the ashes. I worry about will Paul from smiths media phone me again later today, as Ive just noticed Ive missed a call from him. I worry about my dads throat as hes still coughing blodd 3 months later and the doctors have found nothing. I worry about my dog being 11 years old and started to show her age. I worry about will my girlfriends hair turn green after spending the day in my mates pool that must have had to much clorine in it. So I try and not worry to much about money ;)
