Well as you know we had to get our cat put down a couple of weekends ago. What you didn't know was that we got ourselves a puppy to fill the space...We had some shitty luck wih a few other things too...
Well, a few days later she was ill us thinking it was the food we gave her we changd that around but a couple days after that she was still ill - being sick and having a very bad toilet all the time...So we popped her to the vet who made her stay in and it turned it was a very very severe case of worms. Sickness and upset tummys in dogs can kill them if it isn't stopped pretty soon but adult dogs can work their way through t with fat reserves and things, however puppies dont have that so we were very worried when she was getting worse each day in the vets even though we had her on drip and drugs.
The vet called us 3 days ago and basically said she's going to die, and we had two options. Either put her to sleep (which we so did not want to do) o we could have her operated on to remove the build up of worms in her intestine and fix the damage that they might have caused - usually what happens is when dogs get worms as severe as Daisy had them they cause the intestine to double in on itself and it needs to be cut and re stitched.
So we had a think about it and although it was semi costly we went for it, although there was a strong chnce she'd die on the table. About an hour afterwards we got a call and were surprised to hear that although there was a severe build up of worms there wasn't as much intestinal damage as he had expected and it was a quick op cutting the cost down even more and hopefully helping daisy quite a bit.
The past two days have shown signs of improvement on her part, she's getting better! She's off her drip which she pulled out herself and is drinking water, and taking some liquidised food. Although she's still being sick she's much perkier than when she first went in and is responding much better, she's up and walking about so it looks like she could come home next week although I won't be here to see to her...
So it's a kind of luck reveral and I just thought I'd post lol...
