My understanding is that he comes originaly from an Estonian Caverlyman who made his name fighting the anti Christian Romans of the time. Was then later adopted by the Turks. But I could be wrong, though that would certainly be the first time. ;)

Wikipedia doesn't even mention Estonia. Don't worry, you'll be right about something one day. Or you could go and "fix" the page. :)

It does say that he's the patron saint of... Canada, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Montenegro, Portugal, Serbia, the cities of Istanbul, Ljubljana and Moscow. Which is nice.
