That's fucked up. Since I started in this biz, working for USA clients, the rate has gotten worse. And worse. I fucking hate the dollar. No... wait. I hate the pound.
Exporting services and products to the USA is nearly impossible now. Stupid system! Why cant the whole world just work on one fucking currency :D

Your right mate, working for folk in the US is getting more and more frustrating. They don't seem to grasp the concept we're only getting half of what they are paying if that makes sense...That and the fact we pay double for everything else! Bloody stupid.

Maybe, but there is no need to worry about it as there is fuck all you can do about it. Obviously site owners can up the price or maybe you can find UK sponsors paying in pounds, but obviously it would have to be more than around £15.
Think of some of the shit hot advertising you could get for half price, plus all those half price PPA's ;)

Perzakly - Now is the time to get your ads on google, yahoo and pay for a few gallery spots - If you have dollars coming in via epassporte or you have a dollar account, go for it big time - It will bring in loads more dollars and more than compensate for the crap exchange rate. The harder you look, the more benefits you will see.

I remember us all having this exact same conversation in early December with everyone saying that it's only a matter of a couple of days before it gets to $2.
Then again in early February.
I think the UK based currency dealers start selling pounds and buying dollars when it gets to 1.99 and it gors back down again.

Looking way back its been 2.4:1 which would not be a good thing at all.

The pound has moved through the $2 mark for the first time since 1992, as investors bet that interest rates would have to rise further to slow inflation.

I think the dollar is still overvalued and should slide further in the next few days/weeks.
The break of the $2 was always a matter of when, not if.

I recon my outgoings are just 10% of my turnover, so cheaper hosting ect dont make up for the money lost :(

Did I mention that we bill and pay in sterling?
Just checking.
Great. So I go away on shoots for a couple of days, fully expecting the dollar to have recovered to below 2:1. Whoopie. Its great to be home, not so great to see the dollar is still pants.
