View Full Version : CCBILL billing in £'s
ok I haven't changed my forms but I noticed I am getting sales in £'s now
so does this mean CCBILL converts the $ signup rate to £'s for billing then coverts it back to $'s for payment and then I convert it back to £'s at my bank to use the money?
is it possible to just bill in £'s or euros now and get paid in £'s or euros without the converting?

as been said, simply opt for a wire payment.
ccBill are making a fortune from all these different currency billings.... get out yr calculator and log on to xe.com to see just how much!!
I'm actually thinking of advising any sign ups to do it in $
is there a way to disable it?

XE.com etc quote 'Market Rates'
What we get from our bank and what they will get from their bank will NOT be the same rate quoted.
From what XE quote to what my bank payout on can be upto 20 US Cents difference.

Thats because banks make money on changing currency. This is about billing customers in their own currency at source, not converting anything and not popping down Barclays and asking them to change your holliday money.

ccBill are likely to get market rates, because of the volume of transactions...
Out of interest, I just checked a $34.95 subscription, which was paid in £ yesterday
The member actually paid £18.73 which was the equivalent of $37.0016
a difference of $2.0516
Forgot to put in my last post: if you use your credit card abroad or for a foreign currency transaction, you should only be charged market rates...

What soucre.. CCBill are not a bank, they do not buy and sell currency as you as they are a PSP.
Reading this post I am left assuming that although the punter sees GBP price his card is still in fact billed in USD.
Either way the rates people will see are tourist rates, what we see on XE is the base bank rates.
If CCBill make a few extra cents on this then thats just good business by them, they will no doubt have a set exchange rate for USD/GBP

if he pays by credit card, it will show on his (or her bill) in his currency. ie, if he is in the uk and makes any payment for anything, it will show as £ not $.

They wont get bank rates mate, they are PSP - NOT a bank, £18.73 - I just looked at your numbers and the yes the figures are higher though you are looking at the buy rate - as apposed to the sell rate.
this is the rate AUCTUAL buy rate for GBP / USD - 1.9164
The bank BUY USD at 1.989
Using these numbers you will see the join is about the right, :)
