Old Bill, the aging police officer discovered Sandy Plaine lying on her side in a puddle of water and broken glass.

When the doctor arrived he pronounced her dead....

Since Sandy Plaine had no cuts on her body, how did she die??

I heard this one at school and also heard fish as the answer -
But - Other possibilities:

1) Sandy is a human who fell though her window and died (Hence the broken glass - Falling though a pain doesn't always mean you cut yourself)

2) How deep is the puddle? Sandy could be a drunk who fell, breaking her whisky bottle and landling unconcious in a 2 foot deep puddle of water and drowned.
